Premio Participación y Gestión LocalRed para el Desarrollo de las Ciencias Sociales en el Perú (REDCSS)
Awarded since 2003 by the Network for the Development of Social Sciences in Peru (Red para el Desarrollo de las Ciencias Sociales en el Perú, REDCCSS), the purpose of this prize is to identify and promote experiences of cooperation between state agencies and civil society groups that are innovative, productive and replicable. The contest highlights the most successful experiences, creating models of good civic and governmental practice.It has a data bank of 626 experiences at the Web site www.redccss.org.pe/participacionï¿½
The data bank contains experiences in various fields, including socio-economic development, land-use planning and environment, infrastructure and public services, health and social services, education and culture, administration and government, justice and public security, and management and civil rights.
Evaluation criteria are designed to identify innovation in experiences related to a particular issue, partnerships between civil society and the state, and the ability to resolve matters of public interest.
The methodology for identifying experiences consists of the following steps:
Knowledge creation in local administration occurs mainly through public fairs, workshops and on-line databases, and over the next two years mainly through academic seminars and workshops and publications.
